INTERIOR DESIGNER
How do I approach Interior Design ?
It’s about designing spaces for others of meaning and story. Where functionality and an eye for a more edited space can be practiced or curated in a way that introduces thoughtful layers and finishes. It all depends on you, the client, your story. It can be, more often than not, be a process of thinking outside the box, bringing curiosity and play together!
The collaborative part of the design process ?
That can have an element of surprise! It is exciting as we move thru this process to find those ‘aha’ moments, and always rewarding. All the while customizing and drawing on my experience, your needs, and how you want the space to feel and function.
What are those design elements for you?
Would your design story have a priority list around functionality, an edited space, lots of natural light, interiors that show up in a way that gives us quality + longevity with finish choices, having space for the elements of your collectibles, a lean to contemporary finishes and fixtures or a lean for more traditional, &/or do you have a need for calm spaces & gentle colour tones or lots of colour?
What’s your lean?
Some special highlights of my career include;
TV series host for an Interior Design show on HGTV and the Food Network

Staged events - Wine Festival, Film Festival + Bike Festival on SaltSpring Island

For the most part, I have used items that clients own. I then play, re-organize at times, and tend to do a lot of editing!
I also manage and of any trades to do painting or heavy duty work in yard, as necessary.
Any items that are edited get placed in boxes etc. If any staging items are purchased, they would hopefully be items that
clients could use moving forward.
My approach can work very well and can also be a nice win win in regards to the end result vs full on staging which is very
expensive and inconvenient at times.
